Mining Containment
Heap leach pads, tailings ponds and process water storage — containment that resists process chemistry and harsh site conditions.
The engineering problem
Mining containment faces process solutions, high UV exposure at altitude, rough subgrades and large lined areas where every field seam is a potential leak path. The liner must be chemically stable, wide enough to minimize seams, and protected against puncture during ore placement.
- Smooth HDPE geomembrane — impermeable barrier for heap leach pads, tailings and process ponds; excellent chemical resistance; widths to 8 m reduce field seams
- PP filament geotextile — protection cushion under and over the membrane against puncture from subgrade and ore
- PET staple geotextile — filtration and separation in solution collection layers
