The engineering problem
Traffic loads pump fine subgrade soils up into the aggregate base, destroying pavements from below; soft ground needs reinforcement before it can carry a road or track. A separation geotextile keeps layers apart while passing water — and wide rolls mean fewer overlaps and faster laying across long linear projects.
- PP filament geotextile — separation and reinforcement: high strength per gram, 2–6.5 m widths ideal for long road and rail sections; also used as anti-cracking interlayer in pavements
- PET staple geotextile — filtration and separation with low creep under sustained load — suits railway track beds
- Smooth HDPE geomembrane — waterproofing layer where subgrade waterproofing is specified
